PENTECOST SUNDAY | May 23, 2021 | New Street United Methodist Church | Shepherdstown Church

“They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them to speak.” Acts 2:4(CEB)

Please enjoy today’s Pentecost message as Pastor Dee-Ann speaks from in front of her rose bushes. The scripture lesson also features Jordan Dixon-Gross as a reader with Dee-Ann. Today the Johnston Bell Memorial Handbell Choir performs “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)”. Sue McWilliams recorded a new prelude and postlude that will be used for the next few weeks that play with new pictures from the church’s garden taken by Becky Lidgerding. We hope you enjoy the updates as we celebrate the Pentecost.

Holy God, empower us with your Holy Spirit, that as your daughters and sons, we may prophesy truth to power. Inspire within us the dreams of youth and the visions of age. Cause wonders to occur, not just in the heavens above, but on the earth below, that your justice may spring forth with tremors of righteousness and love. In the power of your mighty Spirit, we pray. Amen.
