Read the Bible in 90 Days – Week 9

Read the Bible in 90 Days – Week 9

Reading Tips

  • Keep the following in mind as you continue to read the books of the prophets. You will encounter some of these hurdles:
  1. Knowing when the prophet is writing,
  2. Knowing to whom the prophet is writing,
  3. Knowing the circumstances of the prophet’s audience,
  4. Knowing whether the prophet is describing a current event/situation or one that is being foretold.
  • Lamentations – Poetic laments about the destruction of Jerusalem.
  • Ezekiel – Prophesies warning of the fall of Jerusalem. After the fall, Ezekiel offers oracles of hope.
  • Daniel – Daniel and his three friends are exemplary representatives of God while he is in exile in Babylon. He pens many long-range prophesies.
