A 5 week Lent Bible Study will start March during Lent.  David Gross will facilitate the class.  We will be using the book Half Truths: God Helps Those Who Help Themselves and Other Things the Bible Doesn’t Say by Adam Hamilton.  In this study we will explore popular sayings that miss the point.  They sound Christian – like something you might find in the Bible.  They even capture some element of truth, yet they miss the point in some ways.  We will search for the truth by comparing common Christians sayings with the wisdom found in Scripture.

Intriguing?  Here are the sayings we will look at:  “Everything happens for a reason.”  “God helps those who help themselves.”  “God won’t give you more than you can handle.”  “God said it, I believe it, that settles it.”  “Love the sinner, hate the sin.”

We will meet Tuesday at 9:15am in Church Library.  Books are available on the “Information Table,” a $10 donation is appreciated.
