NEWSLETTER VOLUNTEERS

Newsletter Deadline for July/August Issue

Have something interesting to report?  We would love to hear from you.  The due date for items for the combined July/August issue is June 18. There are several ways to get this information into the monthly newsletters.  Information can be dropped off in the hall way across from Rev. Dixon’s offi ce in the mail box marked “Newsletter” or email to [email protected].   The mailing address for the church is NSUMC, Attn: New Street NEWS, PO Box 188, Shepherdstown, WV 25443; email at [email protected];   the church office phone is 304-876-2362;

Volunteers will also be needed for the JULY/AUGUST  2017 Newsletter on Wed. June 28, 2017, starting at 9:45 am. Volunteers are needed to help with folding, sealing, and labeling the Newsletters monthly. Can you help out? Please call the church office at 304-876-2362 or email [email protected] if you can help.

 2017 SIGN UP SHEETS

There are sign-up sheets for 2017 Communion Servers, Greeters, Readers, Nursery and Bulletin Sponsors on the information table in the hallway.  Please stop by and sign up.

Please your help is needed on Sundays in the Nursery!  Sign-up sheet is on the info table in the hallway or talk with Sarah Raines for more information. Thank you!

Helen Miller, our NSUMC Administrative Assistant, will be taking some time off to take care of some personal issues.  She will be out of the office from May 30 – June 19th and will return on June 20th renewed and refreshed.   Please keep Helen and her family in your prayers.  During this time, the office will remain open during regular business hours and will be covered by Carol Goldthorpe.

 Cathcart Scholarship

Cathcart Scholarship is available to high school graduates, college students and second career students.  For an application see Pastor Dee-Ann or visit the church office.  Due date is June 18.

A Call for all 2017 Graduates

Do you know someone in our community who has graduated from high school, college, or other program?  Please let the church office know so we can acknowledge our graduates!

Pastor Dee-Ann will be unavailable next week  between the hours of 8am and 5pm.  She will be with the teens during Teen week.  The church office will be open during regular business hours this week. 

Sunday School

Last day for Children’s Sunday school before Summer break is June 18.

West Side Story

The St. Agnes Catholic Church players presents “West Side Story” on June 16 at 8 p.m., June 17 at 2  & 8 p.m., June 18 at 2 p.m., June 23 at 8 p.m. and June 24 at 2 & 8 p.m.  Performances will be held at Reynolds Hall at Shepherd University.  Tickets are $15 or $10 for students.  For reservations call 304-876-6436 or StAgnesShepherdstown.org.

Community Bible School 2017

Community Bible School–Galactic Stareyors, July 18, 19, 20, 2017

9-3 pm for school age9-11:30 am for 3 and 4 year olds—potty-trained

Adults and teens are needed to help!

Change of Date

The Floris UMC Handbell ringers will be unable to perform on the 25th of June but they will

provide New Street with their beautiful music on July 16th.  So please mark your calendars.

Volunteers needed to clean church

We are looking for some volunteers to clean the church the week of July 3nd and the week of August 14th as Wendy, our custodian, will be on vacation.  Cleaning will be streamlined from what our custodian typically does but would include:

1) vacuuming/dusting the Sanctuary, Chancel and Narthex

2) dry dusting the wood floor in Wesley Hall and vacuuming the  carpet by Wesley door to include the ramp door, and dusting furniture

3) dusting floor in Nursery and Library, clean bathroom and empty all trash

4) clean two downstairs bathrooms

5) put out trash on Friday morning

This would also be a great volunteer opportunity for our youth with supervision.  Thank you for considering this opportunity.
